Job summary

Atrium Health Stanly Emergency Department in Albemarle, NC is seeking a part-time Psychiatric Technician to support nurses and care teams. Requires a High School Diploma or GED; Bachelor’s degree is preferred. CPI certification within 90 days of hire and BLS certification are required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Relevant patient care experience in a hospital setting preferred.
• CPI certification within 90 days of hire; BLS required.
• Good therapeutic communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Observes, reports, and documents signs or changes in patient behavior to charge nurse.
• Interacts with patients therapeutically and participates in group activities.
• Supports patient teaching groups and social activities as directed.
• Uses CPI techniques appropriately and makes rounds at least every half hour.
• Maintains empathy, dignity, and confidentiality in all interactions.
• Participates in unit-based process improvement activities and committees.
• May include on-call duties as requested by administration.
