Job summary

Advocate Health in Charlotte is seeking a part-time Behavioral Health role for the Emergency Department. The candidate will observe, engage with patients, lead group activities, and use CPI techniques while ensuring compassionate care.

Qualified applicants have a High School Diploma/GED; Bachelor's preferred. CPI certification within 90 days of hire and BLS are required. The schedule includes weekends and 7p–7a shifts.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Good therapeutic communication skills required.
• CPI certification required within 90 days of hire date. BLS required per policy guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Observes and reports signs and symptoms to charge nurse.
• Interacts with patients therapeutically.
• Facilitates social and recreational activities and patient teaching groups.
• Uses CPI techniques appropriately.
• Makes rounds on assigned patients at least every half hour.
• Responds to patients with empathy and maintains dignity and confidentiality.
• Participates in unit-based process improvement activities.
• Participates in unit-based committees.
