Job summary

The Bear River Health Department seeks a motivated intern to support Emergency Preparedness and Safety programs in Logan, Utah. The role offers hands-on experience in public health operations, records management, and safety documentation with flexible scheduling.

Location is Logan, UT with some in-person work and potential for remote tasks. Compensation includes a $1,000 stipend upon completion of the internship.

Qualifications

• Current student or recent graduate in public health, emergency management, healthcare administration, or related field
• Excellent organizational and communication skills required
• Comfortable working with spreadsheets and basic data systems
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Interest in emergency preparedness and public health systems
• Ability to pass criminal background check and drug screening

Responsibilities

• Support development, implementation and testing of emergency notification systems (text, email, phone)
• Maintain accurate records and documentation
• Collect and organize Safety Data Sheets across the department
• Participate in emergency preparedness planning and exercises including testing of the All-Hazards Emergency Operations Plan
• Provide general administrative and project support
• Collaborate with team on process improvements and special projects
