NC State Highway Patrol is seeking an electrical technician to support VIPER sites across North Carolina, focusing on underground distribution lines, standby generators up to 350KW, and related equipment.

Responsibilities include preventive and corrective maintenance under a VIPER Network Engineer, with statewide travel, long hours, and coordination with vendors. A valid NC driver's license is required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED and two years of journey-level experience in two or more mechanical or building trades.
• EPA Type I, II, III or Universal technician certification may be required.

Responsabilités

• Construct, relocate, and maintain secondary underground electric distribution lines and related components to support VIPER sites statewide.
• Install, maintain, and repair electrical system components, including up to 350KW stand-by generators, switchgear, transformers, and associated equipment.
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on stand-by and emergency generators according to the VIPER maintenance schedule.
• Collaborate with vendors and suppliers to obtain necessary parts, equipment, and materials for system maintenance and repairs.
• Work independently or with team members to complete tasks, ensuring compliance with NC DOI inspections and developing expertise in backup emergency power systems.
