Job summary

The role demands initiative, composure under pressure, and accurate typing. Proficiency with Microsoft apps and LEADS/CCH training is required, along with U.S.

Qualifications

• Must be a U.S. citizen.
• Must be at least 18 years old at hire date.
• Must pass LEADS training and maintain certification.
• Must pass C.C.H. training and maintain certification.
• Must pass Civil Service Communication Operator/Dispatcher examination.
• Must pass a thorough background investigation.
• Computer literacy with typing of at least 30 wpm.

Responsibilities

• Answers 9-1-1 emergency phones and processes calls.
• Determines emergency nature and locates units to dispatch.
• Maintains communication with assigned units during incidents.
• Operates CAD and LEADS systems.
• Answers business lines, assesses needs, and directs assistance.
• Assists citizens, victims, and officials at the lobby window.
• Accesses data in local/state/national databases for investigations.
• Maintains order and security in the Police Communications Center.
• Monitors the Police facility and ensures doors and areas are secure.
