Job summary

CommonSpirit Health is seeking a Clinical Pharmacist Specialist embedded in our Emergency Department to provide real-time pharmacotherapy expertise during resuscitations, trauma activations, stroke alerts, and other emergencies. You will lead medication management, optimize drug therapy, and mentor residents and students while collaborating with ED physicians and nurses.

Qualifications

• Pharmacy degree required (BSPharm or PharmD).
• Texas Pharmacist License in good standing required.
• Board Certification (e.g. BCCP, BCPS) within 3 years of hire.
• ACLS/BLS certification as per American Heart Association.
• Residency completion or 3 years of clinical experience required.

Responsibilities

• Document clinical activities and interventions (consults, patient teachings) as defined by policy.
• Interpret orders for drug interactions and appropriateness; enter and dispense medications promptly.
• Communicate drug information to patients and health professionals; resolve drug-related problems.
• Educate ED staff; participate in committees and quality improvement initiatives.
