Job summary

Texas Health Fort Worth is seeking a Patient Care Tech (PCT) for the Emergency department. The position supports nurses, prepares patients, and documents care on the night shift (6:45 PM–7:15 AM) for a 36-hour week, including weekends and holidays.

Required are a high school diploma or equivalent, CLIA-related foreign education equivalency rules, and THR-approved PCT or EMT pathways. Active CPT/CPR skills and CPI training are needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• CLIA regulations regarding foreign education equivalency required.
• PCT Training Program TX CNA/NHA/NAHP/NCCT or THR approved program upon hire.
• EMT training or equivalent upon hire.
• Nursing student who has completed fundamentals or foreign nurse degree program upon hire.
• 1 year of applicable experience preferred or in lieu of active certification.

Responsibilities

• Provides patient care and assistance based on the plan of care and patient/family preferences.
• Collects and reports patient data, supports admission, transfer, and discharge processes.
• Performs technical procedures safely and documents care accurately.
• Collaborates with nurses to adapt care for diverse populations and cultural needs.
• Maintains a clean, safe environment and proactively meets patient and visitor needs.
• Demonstrates teamwork, flexibility, and effective communication across disciplines.
• Participates in process improvement, adheres to safety goals, and advocates for patients.
