AC Disaster Consulting is seeking an Operations Section Chief to lead field operations within the State Emergency Response Team (SERT) framework. Based onsite at CO EOC locations, you will coordinate missions, deploy resources, and ensure alignment with the Incident Action Plan.

The role requires a Bachelor’s in Emergency Management, experience with the ICS framework at state or federal levels, and strong decision-making under pressure. Travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Emergency Management or related field.
• Experience with Incident Command Framework at state or federal levels.
• Experience with financial management applications.
• Experience in an Emergency Operations Center or disaster response, including at least 2 activations or exercises, in a supervisory or key support capacity.

Responsabilités

• Coordinate priority missions and resource deployment with Branch Directors, ensuring alignment with objectives.
• Collaborate with the AHIMT Unit Leader to deploy teams and manage mutual aid requests.
• Identify resource needs beyond state inventories and report to the Logistics Chief.
• Ensure operational objectives meet local needs and coordinate with field staff.
• Deploy and maintain communications with liaisons in affected areas with the SERT Field Operations Branch Director.
• Participate in Incident Action Plan meetings and provide an operational perspective.
• Conduct operational meetings with Branch Directors and ESFs to resolve issues and coordinate with other Section Chiefs.
• Manage tactical incident activities and oversee IAP implementation.
• Translate leadership decisions into action and coordinate efforts with responders.
• By operation end, explain status of field operations and provide recommendations.
• Develop and implement transition plans based on escalating incident complexity.
• Supervise the development of Operations Section contingency plans.
