Qualifications

• Current and valid state Registered Nurse license.
• BSN preferred.
• ACLS certificate within 30 days of hire and maintained.
• PALS certificate and/or ENPC within 30 days of hire and maintained.
• Previous supervisory experience preferred.
• Minimum of one year as a staff nurse in an acute care hospital setting; ED setting preferred.
• TNCC and CEN certifications preferred; within specified timelines.
• Minimum of 2 years of clinical nursing experience, with 1 year in a supervisory or leadership role preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supports administrative responsibility for department service functions and collaborates with the unit Director/Manager.
• Develops and implements departmental plans including performance improvement and regulatory compliance.
• Oversees departmental orientation and training of personnel; communicates with staff, physicians, and administration.
• Is responsible for quality of staff and functions during their shift; directs staffing, operations, time use, and equipment.
• Performs direct patient care as needed within the scope of practice and assesses care to guide modifications in the plan.
