Job summary

Prince George’s County Police Department in Upper Marlboro, MD seeks a Mental Health Clinician (Counselor 4G, grade G27) to provide emergency psychological services to police personnel and their families. Applicants must hold a graduate degree in counseling, social work, or psychology and possess or be eligible for licensure (LCPC/LCADC/LCP/LCMFT).

Qualifications

• Master's or doctoral degree in Counseling, Social Work, or Psychology.
• Licensed mental health licensure required or eligible (LCPC/LCADC/LCP/LCMFT).
• Supervisory or clinical lead experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide emergency psychological intervention as part of 24-hour service for department personnel and relatives.
• Conduct clinical interviews, psychotherapy, and risk assessments.
• Develop and deliver crisis intervention training and in-service education.
• Perform assessments and develop psychological profiles.
• Coordinate with command staff on psychological matters and incidents.
