Zusammenfassung

The Emergency Medicine Physician at Alameda Health System will provide emergency medicine services in the Emergency Department and respond to in-house emergencies as needed.

Requirements include completion of an approved residency in Emergency Medicine, board eligibility or board certification, and a valid California medical license with a DEA license. The role reports to Medical Directors and the Department Chair, with a base pay range per shift and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifikationen

• Completion of approved post-graduate residency training in Emergency Medicine.
• Board Eligible or Board Certified in Emergency Medicine.
• Valid California medical license and a valid DEA license.

Aufgaben

• Provide appropriate medical services to all patients presenting to the Emergency Department.
• Consult with medical staff about issues concerning medical services for ED patients.
• Cooperate with clinical departments to facilitate patient care.
• Refer patients for specialist care when medically necessary.
• Use current clinical practices, adhere to standards of care, document in the EHR.
• Coordinate transfers to other facilities as needed for appropriate care.
• Maintain good relations with medical staff and employees.
• Support department goals on patient, employee, and physician satisfaction.
• Consult with quality management to improve outcomes and efficient use of resources.
• Assist in discharge planning for observation patients.
• Report concerns about quality of care or patient issues to hospital leadership.
• Comply with accrediting bodies and hospital rules; implement new procedures as requested.
• Communicate clinical status to referring physicians and families.
• Represent the hospital in public relations and satisfaction initiatives.
• Attend monthly Faculty and Quality Review meetings.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the department chair.
