Job summary

Qualifications

• MD or DO degree and current medical license.
• At least three years of directly related emergency medicine experience.
• Current Arizona medical license and active DEA certification.
• ACLS, PALS and ATLS certification (or Emergency Medicine Residency).
• Board certification or eligibility in designated medical subspecialty.

Responsibilities

• Provide and manage direct medical evaluation, diagnosis, procedures, and care for patients in the ER.
• Perform triage and emergency lifesaving treatments per ACLS, PALS, ATLS protocols.
• Direct patient care including physical exams, assessments, and treatment in the ER.
• Prescribe medications and treatment regimens as appropriate.
• Admit patients to hospital as needed.
• Train and supervise medical students and residents in specialty activities.
• Direct and coordinate patient care activities of nursing staff as required.
• Follow departmental policies, safety, and infection control standards.
• Participate in policy review and health promotion programs.
• Maintain strict confidentiality of records.
• Contribute to team effort and related results.
