Job summary

NYU Langone Hospital—Suffolk is seeking a Physician Assistant for the Emergency Department on a per diem basis. The PA provides inpatient and ED coverage under supervision, performing assessments, ordering tests, and managing treatment plans.

Candidates must be a graduate of an ARC-PA accredited PA program with NCCPA certification and NYS PA licensure, plus BLS. Per diem shifts support a fast-paced, patient-centered environment in Suffolk.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a PA program accredited by ARC-PA.
• Current NCCPA certification.
• Current New York State PA license.
• Basic Life Support certification.

Responsibilities

• Introduce self as a physician assistant and perform initial assessment.
• Order and interpret tests and radiology results as needed.
• Document care in the medical record following policy.
• Develop and implement diagnosis and treatment plans.
• Consult with supervising physician when required.
• Provide ED, trauma, and perioperative support as assigned.
• Document all procedures, orders, and patient education.
• Ensure sterile technique and timely, accurate charting.
