Progressive Emergency Physicians has an excellent opportunity for a full-time physician to join our Emergency Department team at Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center, part of Catholic Health Services of Long Island. We are looking for a board-certified physician, with OBS experience a plus. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to join the Catholic Health Services team through Progressive Emergency Physicians and become part of one of the nation's leading healthcare organizations. The candidate will work closely with the Chairman of Emergency Medicine to plan, manage, and implement strategies that enhance quality, efficiency, patient experience, physician engagement, and faculty and trainee development. The role offers leadership opportunities to oversee operations, collaborate with other departments to ensure patient-centered, coordinated care, and optimize resource use to achieve superior outcomes aligned with our mission to improve community health.
Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center, a member of Catholic Health Services of Long Island, is a 537-bed not-for-profit hospital serving West Islip and surrounding communities on Long Island's south shore. It offers comprehensive high-quality services for inpatients and outpatients, including being one of the largest emergency service providers on Long Island. The hospital features an Ambulatory Surgery Department performing nearly 300 same-day procedures weekly, and pediatric patients are treated in the pediatric emergency department, with access to pediatric subspecialists around the clock.
The emergency department operates 24/7, evaluating and treating all emergencies. It is the only Verified Level II Trauma Center for both adult and pediatric patients on Long Island's south shore. The team collaborates with the in-hospital Trauma Team for immediate trauma care. It also provides access to a 24/7 cardiac percutaneous coronary intervention team and is a Comprehensive Stroke Center. The staff includes physicians, nurses, and physician assistants experienced in emergent care for patients of all ages, treating approximately 90,000 patients annually.
