Job summary

Adelphi Medical Staffing seeks a Board-certified Emergency Medicine physician for a locum tenens assignment in Weslaco, Texas. Work 12-hour shifts (7a-7p and 7p-7a) with coverage ASAP ongoing, and travel, lodging, and malpractice insurance provided.

The ED features 14 ED beds, 8 inpatient beds, Cerner EMR, and backup support; credentialing ~120 days. Must hold Texas license or IMLC, DEA, and related certifications.

Qualifications

• Board certification in Emergency Medicine required.
• Texas license/IMLC/DEA/CSR active required.
• ACLS, ATLS, PALS, BLS certifications required.
• CME: stroke and trauma CME requirements must be met annually.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive emergency medical care to patients in the ED.
• Manage medical, surgical, and trauma emergencies including resuscitation and stabilization.
• Perform emergency procedures such as bedside ultrasound, conscious sedation, intubation, and central line placement.
• Collaborate with nursing staff, NPPAs, and consulting specialists (Seizures, Respiratory, Gastroenterology).
• Document patient encounters and maintain regulatory and credentialing compliance.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

• Board: BC in ABEM/ABOEM or ABIM/ABFM with EM experience
• Licenses: Active Texas medical license or IMLC, DEA, CSR if applicable

• Certifications: ACLS, ATLS, PALS, BLS required
• Experience: Board certified within 5 years of residency/fellowship, or EM experience
• Other Qualifications: CME: 4 hours Stroke CME and 16 hours Trauma CME annually; Case logs for past 2 years; Immunizations: MMR, Hep B, Varicella, Tdap, Covid, annual flu, annual TB
