SCP Health - Locums seeks a BC/BE Emergency Physician to provide locum tenens coverage in Lufkin, Texas. The role requires active Texas medical licensing and DEA, BLS/ACLS/PALS/ATLS as needed, and at least two years of ED experience.

Expect day and night shifts with comprehensive support staff and full malpractice coverage. Responsibilities include rapid evaluation of a high-volume ED, performing procedures, and meticulous documentation in Medhost EMR.

Qualifications

• Board: BC/BE in Emergency Medicine, Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, or General Surgery.
• Licenses: Active, unrestricted Texas Medical License; Active Texas DEA.
• Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, ATLS required if not Board Certified in Emergency Medicine.
• Experience: Minimum 2 years of recent clinical experience in Emergency Medicine or related specialty.
• Other Qualifications: Two years of case logs, two years of CME/CEU documentation.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive emergency medical care to patients of all ages presenting to the ED.
• Manage a high-volume patient panel with 24-hour physician coverage.
• Perform emergency procedures as required (e.g., laceration repair, intubation, central line placement).
• Collaborate with nursing and support staff to ensure efficient patient flow and timely care.
• Maintain accurate documentation in the Medhost EMR system.
