Job summary

AMN Healthcare is assisting with the placement of an Emergency Medicine Physician in Texas City. Shifts run 6a-6p and 6p-6a, with an annual patient volume of about 70,000 visits. Meditech is used for electronic medical records, and ABEM, ACLS, BLS, PALS, ATLS, Texas license, and DEA are required.

NP/PA coverage exists for surge periods, and 24/7 trauma support is available. Compensation ranges from $266.75 to $288.75 per hour.

Qualifications

• ABEM certification required for Emergency Medicine.
• ACLS, BLS, PALS, and ATLS certifications required.
• Active Texas Medical License and DEA registration required.

Responsibilities

• Provide Emergency Medicine coverage as locum tenens.
• Collaborate with trauma surgeons and multi-specialty consultants as needed.

This facility is seeking an Emergency Medicine Physician for locum tenens support as they look to fill a current need.

• Annual volume: Approximately 70,000 visits/year
• Physician shift times: 6a-6p, 6p-6a
• NP/PA Coverage: Yes; APPs expected for surge support
• Back-up specialties available: Multi-specialty consultant support and trauma surgeons available 24/7
• EMR: Meditech
• Certifications required: American Board of Emergency Medicine (ABEM), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Basic Life Support (BLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS), must have an active Texas License and Drug Enforcement Administration License (DEA).

Facility Location

This city is a busy port on Texas’ Gulf Coast and home to Charles Brown the former American Blues singer. There is also a petrochemical manufacturing center and a petroleum refining center located on the outskirts of the city, where a major explosion in 1947 almost demolished Texas City itself. The Moore Memorial Public Library and The Texas City Museum are some of the sites that visitors go to get inspired.
