Two Emergency Medicine Physician Opportunities in Western, TX

We are recruiting for two distinct hospital settings in Western Texas for Emergency Medicine physicians. Please review the details below:

Hospital 1:

• Level 2 trauma center and county hospital
• Seeking ABEM/board eligible physicians, open to practicing physicians and summer 2025 graduates
• Schedule: 10-hour shifts, approximately 2.0-2.2 patients per hour (pph) average
• Coverage: 40 hours physician, 40 hours midlevel
• Compensation: Productivity-based pay averaging over $325/hour
• Features: Easy admissions, minimal pushback, transfer protocols for complex cases such as pelvic fractures, burns, strokes (thrombectomy), and pediatric ICU cases
• EMR: Cerner FirstNet with Dragon dictation, efficient order sets, minimal charting clicks
• Operational details: Minimal boarding issues, mental health screening, hospital admits if psychiatric facilities are full
• Support: 24/7 ED pharmacists, CT scans (3 scanners), ultrasound techs, MRI
• Trauma surgeons in-house 24/7, hospitalist/pediatric hospitalist programs, comprehensive consult list

Partnership opportunity available for qualified candidates willing to live locally.

Hospital 2:

• Smaller critical access hospital approximately 1 hour 15 minutes from Hospital 1
• Open to ABEM, ABPS, IM/FM with ED experience
• Volume: Low, with about 0.6 patients per hour, 24-hour shifts
• Shift details: 24-hour shifts with facilities including a call room, fridge, bathroom/shower, and bed; hotel room available between shifts
• Staffing: Family medicine hospitalist covers OB-GYN (>20 weeks), bypassing ER for pregnancy-related issues; general surgeon on call; no other specialty support
• Compensation: $200/hour

Note: Some physicians work exclusively at one hospital or the other.
