Department Overview

• Trauma Designation: Level III with integrated diagnostics
• Annual ED Volume: 23,000 patients
• Facilities: 31 treatment rooms, fast-track area
• Admission Rate: 25%
• Patient acuity: High
• Staffing: APC coverage, all certified in ATLS
• Services: Radiology, point-of-care ultrasound, video laryngoscope, fiberoptic bronchoscope
• Charting: M-modal voice recognition
• Note: Emergency physicians do not write admitting orders
• Nursing: ACLS-certified staff
