Job description

UPMC Somerset is currently seeking a qualified Emergency Medicine Physician to join our team!

The Department of Emergency Medicine provides emergency care by trained, board-certified emergency physicians 24 hours a day. The department is staffed with critical care-trained, ACLS and PALS certified nursing staff.

Emergency care at these facilities includes the immediate treatment of any medical or surgical emergency, initiation of life-saving procedures in all types of emergency situations, and the provision of emergency care for chronic medical conditions and minor illnesses and injuries for patients of all ages.

Description:

• Physicians will treat patients in the Emergency Room to ensure proper injury care and disease diagnosis.
• Physicians must be able to evaluate a variety of acuity levels, think and act quickly to make tentative diagnoses, and determine appropriate treatment plans.
• Physicians will work as part of a team with other providers and emergency staff members.
• UPMC emphasizes physician wellness, with staffing ratios generally less than two patients per hour.
• This is a regular, full-time position with shifts covering all times.

Qualifications:

• Emergency Medicine Board Eligible/Board Certified.
• Must be qualified for a medical license in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
