Job summary

Adelphi Locums is seeking a BC/BE Emergency Medicine physician for ongoing locum tenens coverage in Lufkin, Texas at Woodland Heights Medical Center. The role includes day and night shifts (7a-7p and 7p-7a) with a 12-hour shift, and 24-hour physician coverage to handle ~31,000 annual visits.

Requirements include board certification/eligibility in EM, FM, IM, or General Surgery, TX medical license and TX DEA, plus BLS/ACLS/PALS/ATLS if not EM-certified.

Qualifications

• Board certification or eligibility in Emergency Medicine, Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, or General Surgery.
• Active Texas Medical License with Texas address.
• Active Texas DEA with schedules 2–5 required.
• BLS, ACLS, PALS, ATLS required if not Board Certified in EM.
• Minimum 2 years of recent clinical experience in Emergency Medicine or related specialty.
• Two years of case logs and CME/CEU documentation.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive emergency medical care to all ages in the ED.
• Manage a high-volume patient panel with 24-hour physician coverage.
• Perform emergency procedures such as laceration repair, intubation, and central line placement.
• Collaborate with nurses and support staff to maintain efficient patient flow.
• Maintain accurate documentation in the Medhost EMR system.
