Job description

Locums - Bay City, Michigan, Emergency Medicine Opening

Clinical Role:

• Dates: 5/10/25 - 10/31/25 (various shifts)
• This assignment is strictly onsite. There is no call associated with EM. All shifts are 9- or 10-hour shifts, with potential for 12-hour shifts.
• Weekend requirements apply.

Additional Details:

• Reason for locum coverage: Recruitment gap
• Patients per day: approximately 80, with 1.8 patients per hour for physicians
• Staff support includes APP 12 hours, full ED support with nursing and tech, radiology, and lab services
• Current EHR system: Cerner

Procedures and Skills:

Experience with adult outpatient, pediatric-general outpatient, newborn resuscitation, orthopedic non-displaced fractures, suturing minor lacerations, incision & drainage, psychiatric care for adults, children, and geriatrics, management of industrial-related medical problems, ventilation management, acute volume/BP issues, central and arterial lines, EKG interpretation, arthrocentesis, lumbar puncture, paracentesis, and EM-related procedures.

Qualifications:

• Board Certified (No BE), or IM/FM with minimum 2+ years recent ED experience - required
• Michigan license required at the time of clearance (no IMLC)
• ACLS, BLS, PALS certifications required
• Must be local - no exceptions
