Job summary

Johns Hopkins University seeks a Physician Assistant to work within a multidisciplinary health care team in an Emergency Medicine setting. You will perform complex patient care procedures, educate patients and families, and work under physician supervision to ensure high-quality care.

You will also participate in clinical trials, protocol design, and daily operations of research activities, while maintaining up-to-date competencies with acute care procedures.

Qualifications

• Must have NCCPA certification and completion of a CAAHEP-certified PA program.
• Maryland PA license or license in another state where practicing.
• Current CPR certification; maintain licensure and certification during employment.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive history and physicals with accurate documentation for physician review.
• Order, interpret labs and imaging as delegated by supervising physician.
• Initiate IV therapy and basic/advanced life support as needed.
• Prescribe and regulate medications; monitor outcomes of interventions.
• Arrange consultations/referrals and coordinate with health care team.
• Participate in clinical trials and research protocol implementation.
