To provide independent advanced nurse practitioner clinical expertise to patients and families, including managing chronic stable conditions, routine, acute, or critical care, and medical protocols (e.g., chemotherapy) as defined by standardized procedures or licensure. Responsibilities may include non-invasive/invasive procedures, surgical procedures, including operative first assist, as identified by the Medical Staff Office. Patient management decisions are made independently or in consultation with team members. NPs act as resource persons for healthcare providers and staff.
Provides patient care in a team environment to a diverse patient population, applying knowledge and judgment to evaluate clinical situations, set priorities, and participate in education. Demonstrates leadership and accountability per the Nurse Practice Act.
