Join to apply for the Emergency Medicine Nurse Practitioner 2 (NURSE PRACT 2) role at UC Davis Health Informatics

To provide independent advanced nurse practitioner clinical expertise to patients and families, including managing chronic stable conditions, routine, acute, or critical care, and medical protocols (e.g., chemotherapy) as defined by standardized procedures or licensure. Responsibilities may include non-invasive/invasive procedures, surgical procedures, including operative first assist, as identified by the Medical Staff Office. Patient management decisions are made independently or in consultation with team members. NPs act as resource persons for healthcare providers and staff.

Provides patient care in a team environment to a diverse patient population, applying knowledge and judgment to evaluate clinical situations, set priorities, and participate in education. Demonstrates leadership and accountability per the Nurse Practice Act.

Minimum Qualifications:

1. Valid California RN License without restrictions
2. California Nurse Practitioner Furnishing License
3. California Certified Nurse Practitioner (NP) without restrictions
4. DEA Certificate within 3 months of hire
5. AHA BLS or UC Davis CPR
6. National NP board certification in aligned specialty
7. ACLS and PALS certifications
8. Master’s, DNP, or PhD in Nursing from an accredited school
9. At least 3 years recent NP experience in acute care, including ED
10. Excellent communication, judgment, self-direction, and organizational skills
11. Ability to meet hospital credentialing and billing standards

Preferred Qualifications:

• Over one year recent clinical experience in the department’s specialty care

Position Details:

• Salary: $87.69-$115.72/hour
• Location: Sacramento, CA
• Shift: Variable, 10-hour shifts, nights and weekends
• On-site position, full-time, career staff
