Job Overview

Be capable of performing all EMT basic skills and using BLS equipment.

Schedule

• Rotating shifts: 0700 - 1900 Wk 1 S, M, W; Wk 2 T, F, S
• 24 hours per pay period

Responsibilities

• Communicate verbally in person, via telephone, and telecommunications in English.
• Hear spoken information from co-workers, patients, physicians, and dispatchers, including sounds common to emergency scenes.
• Read and comprehend written materials under stressful conditions.
• Verbally interview patients, family members, and bystanders, and document all relevant information accurately.
• Demonstrate manual dexterity and fine motor skills necessary for quality patient care.
• Interpret written, oral, and diagnostic instructions.
• Extricate patients, assess injuries, use prescribed techniques and appliances, and provide emergency care.
• Operate independently or as part of a team, including reading maps, identifying routes, and observing traffic laws.

Minimum Qualifications

• Current PA EMT certification, not suspended.
• High School Diploma or GED.
• Child Abuse History Clearance from PA DHS.
• Pennsylvania State Police criminal background clearance.
• FBI criminal background clearance and fingerprinting.
• Current CPR (BCLS) training.
• Valid driver’s license in good standing with no recent DUI, reckless driving, or license suspensions related to alcohol or drugs.
• Emergency Vehicle Operators Certification (EVOC).
• Emergency Medical Service Vehicle Operators Certification (EMSVO).

Additional Information

Employment type: Part-time, Rotating shift (0700-1900), 24 hours per pay period.

Location: Philadelphia, PA

Salary: $30.00 - $37.00 per hour
