Description:
Be capable of performing all EMT basic skills and using BLS equipment.

-Schedule:

Rotating Shifts - 0700 - 1900 Wk 1 S, M, W Tr / 0700-1900 Wk 2 T, F, S

24 hours per pay period

Verbal communication in person, via telephone, and telecommunications in English.
- Hear spoken information from co-workers, patients, physicians, dispatchers, and sounds common to emergency scenes.
- Read and understand written materials under stress.
- Verbally interview patients, family, and bystanders, and listen to their responses.
- Document all relevant information accurately in prescribed formats.
- Demonstrate manual dexterity and fine motor skills for quality patient care.
- Interpret written, oral, and diagnostic instructions.
- Extricate patients, assess injuries, use prescribed techniques, communicate with dispatch, provide rescue and emergency care.
- Function independently or as part of a team, receive calls, acknowledge, read maps, identify routes, and observe traffic laws.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Current PA EMT certification, not suspended.
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Child Abuse History Clearance from PA DHS.
  • PA State Police criminal background clearance.
  • FBI criminal background clearance and fingerprinting.
  • Current CPR (BCLS) training.
  • Valid driver’s license in good standing, with recent convictions for DUI, reckless driving, or license suspension related to alcohol/drugs within last 4 years.
  • Emergency Vehicle Operators Certification (EVOC).
  • Emergency Medical Service Vehicle Operators Certification (EMSVO).
