Job summary

Armor Health is seeking an Emergency Medical Technician/Paramedic to join the Dekalb County Jail team in Decatur, GA. The role covers initial assessments, wound care, and intake/pre-booking screenings on a 12-hour day shift (7:00 AM–7:30 PM), with a rotating schedule (3 on, 4 off) and every other weekend.

The position focuses on direct patient care within a correctional setting, following established policies and ensuring safety and infection control standards.

Qualifications

• State licensure as an Emergency Medical Technician/Paramedic.
• Two years’ experience as an Emergency Medical Technician.

Responsibilities

• Performs initial assessment and management of illness or injury in a correctional facility.
• Provides direct paramedical and comprehensive patient care as required.
• Adheres to departmental policies, procedures and safety, infection control standards.
• Administers emergency medical care including life support, decontamination, fluids/drug administration, EKGs, and vital signs.

The qualified candidate will be the Emergency Responder and also handle wound care, Intake/Pre-booking Screenings on Day Shift, 12 hours, 7am to 730pm, (3 on, 4 off) rotating schedule, every other weekend.

Responsibilities

• Performs initial assessment and management of illness or injury in accordance with specified protocol and procedure to patients entering a correctional facility.
• Provides direct paramedical and comprehensive patient care, as required in each individual case.
• Follows established departmental policies, procedures and objectives, continuous quality improvement objectives and safety, environmental and infection control standards.
• Administers appropriate emergency medical care including life support procedures, decontamination protocols, fluid/drug administration, obtaining EKG readings, and vital statistic monitoring.

Qualifications

• State licensure as an Emergency Medical Technician/Paramedic.
• Two years’ experience as an Emergency Medical Technician.
