Job summary

Armor Health in Dekalb County Jail is seeking a Director of Nursing to lead nursing and support staff, oversee patient care, and ensure compliance with all policies and standards in a correctional setting. You will develop and evaluate nursing services and lead quality improvement initiatives.

The ideal candidate holds an active RN license, a Bachelor's in Nursing, and prior nursing supervisory experience in a correctional facility, with CPR certification and proficiency in electronic medical

Qualifications

• Active RN license in good standing.
• Bachelor's degree in Nursing preferred.
• Experience supervising nursing staff, preferably in a correctional healthcare setting.
• CPR certification and EMR proficiency required.

Responsibilities

• Direct, coordinate, and oversee the administration of all nursing and support staff.
• Plan, implement and evaluate all nursing services to include administrative operations and activities.
• Review, establish and maintain patient care protocols and standards to meet policies and regulations.
• Establish and coordinate quality improvement, safety, and infection control programs.
• Review pharmacy utilization to ensure formulary adherence.
• Establish and implement organizational goals, policies, and procedures.
• Design and maintain staffing structures; recruit, train, supervise, and evaluate staff.

Responsibilities

• Direct, coordinate, and oversee the administration of all associated nursing and support staff.
• Plan, implement and evaluate all nursing services to include associated administrative operations and activities.
• Review, establish and maintain patient care protocol and standards, ensuring that all federal and state, Armor, and facility policies, regulations, and guidelines for patient care are met.
• Establish and coordinate quality improvement, safety, and infection control programs
• Review pharmacy utilization to ensure adherence to the formulary.
• Establish and implement short and long-range organizational goals, objectives, strategic plans, policies, and operating procedures
• Design, establish and maintain an organizational structure and staffing to effectively accomplish the organization's goals and objectives, recruits, employs, trains, supervises, and evaluates professional and contract staff.

Qualifications

• Current unencumbered state license as an RN
• Bachelors in Nursing preferred
• Previous nursing supervisory experience, preferably in a correctional healthcare setting
• Current CPR certificate
• Proficient with electronic medical records
• Ability to pass pre-employment Level 2 clearance to include a background check and drug screen
