Job summary

East Alabama Medical Center is seeking an EMT I to provide high- quality pre-hospital care under Alabama protocols. You will perform comprehensive patient assessments, document care, and relay critical information to the team while ensuring safety and compliance.

You will collaborate with EMS partners to deliver timely ambulance care, document actions, and operate emergency vehicles safely under state rules.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Completion of EMT I Certificate program required.
• National Registry certification preferred or required upon hire.
• EVOC certification within 90 days of hire.
• BLS certification within 90 days of hire.
• Valid Driver's License required.
• Associates Degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide pre-hospital care following State of Alabama Protocols.
• Perform comprehensive patient assessments and document care.
• Relay pertinent patient information to the receiving team.
• Utilize data to improve patient care outcomes.
• Safely operate emergency vehicles in accordance with state rules and regulations.

The EMT I performs pre-hospital care in a holistic systematic way, produces quality patient care with optimal patient outcomes. Utilizes State of Alabama Protocols to deliver quality patient care. Incorporates data and information to improve patient care. Performs a comprehensive patient assessment by interpreting multiple, at times conflicting data, and proceeding to give patient care based on findings. Documents patient care activities and relays pertinent patient information to those who have a need to know. Drivers and operates emergency vehicles is a safe manner in accordance to state rules and regulations.
