Job summary

Christian Hospital, part of the BJC HealthCare network, is seeking an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) to provide basic life support and safe patient transport on a 911 ambulance. The role supports RNs and Paramedics in pre-hospital care within the community.

The schedule is full-time with nights (6:00 PM–6:00 AM), rotating shifts, every other weekend, and holiday rotation. Previous EMT experience is preferred, with a $2,500 sign-on bonus offered.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• No prior EMT experience required.

Responsibilities

• Supports and assists with patient care under RN or Paramedic supervision.
• Maintains and cleans patient care and medical equipment.
• Performs routine equipment function tests and calibrations.
• Keeps inventory of supplies and equipment to ensure adequate levels.

Role Purpose

The Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) is responsible for emergency medical care in the pre-hospital environment. Works under on-line and off-line medical control providing basic life support. Provides direct patient care under the supervision of the RN in the Emergency Department or Paramedic.

• Assists with the maintenance and cleaning of patient care and medical equipment.
• Performs routine equipment function tests and calibrations.
• Assists with the inventory of supplies and equipment ensuring adequate supply levels.
