Compensation: $19 - $24/hour plus monthly bonus potential and benefits

What You’ll Do

As the Emergency Medical Technician (EMT), you will manage donor medical needs at our Donor Centers and ensure compliance with all relevant policies and regulations. You will work under the guidance of the Center Medical/Lab Director. Your role is critical to Parachute’s donor-centric mission and offers an opportunity to be part of a dynamic, passionate, and rapidly growing team.

  • Educate potential donors about the plasmapheresis process, what to expect, and the positive impact of plasma donation.
  • Maintain confidentiality of donor and staff records.
  • Evaluate donors through physical examinations and medical histories under supervision, in accordance with FDA SOPs, OSHA, CLIA, cGMP, and all applicable guidelines.
  • Assess donor suitability by reviewing medical histories and medication use.
  • Counsel donors on deferrals based on test results and health considerations.
  • Manage major reactions and evaluate donor injuries.
  • Maintain medical supplies, keep exam rooms clean and sanitized, and follow universal precautions with PPE.
  • Communicate with the Center Medical/Lab Director regarding test results and donor eligibility.
  • Oversee the Hepatitis B program for staff employees.

Qualifications
  • Certified/licensed as an EMT or equivalent in the state of employment, meeting state requirements.
  • Current CPR certification.
  • Experience in a GMP environment with plasma or blood products, or related clinical experience.
  • Physical ability to stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, pull, lift at least 50 lbs., and sit or stand for extended periods.
