What You’ll Do

As the Emergency Medical Technician (EMT), you will manage donor medical needs at our Donor Centers and ensure compliance with all policies and regulations. You will work under the guidance of the Center Medical/Lab Director. Your role is critical to Parachute’s donor-centric mission and offers the opportunity to be part of a dynamic, passionate, and growing team.

  1. Educate potential donors about the plasmapheresis process, expectations, and the positive impact of plasma donation.
  2. Maintain confidentiality of donor and staff records.
  3. Evaluate donors through physical examinations and health histories under supervision, in accordance with FDA SOPs, OSHA, CLIA, cGMP, and applicable regulations.
  4. Assess donor suitability by reviewing medical histories and test results.
  5. Counsel donors on deferrals and health-related eligibility issues.
  6. Treat major reactions and evaluate donor injuries.
  7. Maintain medical supplies, keep exam rooms clean, and follow universal precautions.
  8. Review test results and communicate with the Center Medical/Lab Director regarding donor suitability.
  9. Oversee the Hepatitis B program for staff.

Qualifications
  • Certified/licensed as an EMT or equivalent in the state of employment, according to state requirements.
  • Current CPR certification.
  • Experience in a GMP environment with plasma or blood products, or related clinical experience.
  • Physical ability to lift at least 50 lbs., and to sit or stand for extended periods.
