What You’ll Do

As the Emergency Medical Technician (EMT), you will manage donor medical needs at our centers and ensure compliance with all policies and regulations. You will work under the guidance of the Center Medical/Lab Director. Your role is critical to our donor-centric mission and offers an opportunity to be part of a dynamic, passionate team.

  • Educate potential donors about the plasmapheresis process, expectations, and the positive impact of plasma donation.
  • Maintain confidentiality of donor and staff records.
  • Evaluate donors through physical exams and medical histories under supervision, following FDA SOPs, OSHA, CLIA, cGMP, and applicable guidelines.
  • Assess donor eligibility based on health history and test results.
  • Counsel donors on deferrals and health-related reasons for ineligibility.
  • Respond to major reactions and evaluate donor injuries.
  • Maintain medical supplies, keep exam rooms clean, and follow universal precautions.
  • Communicate with the Center Medical/Lab Director regarding test results and donor suitability.
  • Oversee the Hepatitis B program for staff.

Qualifications
  • Certified/licensed EMT or equivalent in the state of employment, meeting local requirements.
  • Current CPR or BLS certification.
  • Experience in a GMP environment with plasma or blood, or related clinical experience.
  • Physical ability to lift at least 50 lbs, and sit or stand for extended periods.
