Emergency Medical Technician - Advanced (EMT) Location: Joint Base San Antonio, TX Customer: Special Warfare Training Wing (SWTW)
Join GDIT and own your opportunity to support a critical Air Force Special Warfare training mission. As an Emergency Medical Technician, you will provide oversight and coordination for paramedic staff supporting the Special Warfare Training Wing at Joint Base San Antonio. You will use advanced life support skills and clinical oversight to ensure continuous medical coverage, standardized care, compliant documentation, and effective coordination with government medical and operational leadership. In this role, you function as a key link between on‑scene medical response and the broader healthcare system, under established medical direction and applicable national/state paramedic guidelines.
Degree/Education: Possess a High School Diploma, or equivalent.
Certifications in addition to Basic Life Support: Current National AEMT Certification (National Registry) or state license at the Advanced Emergency Medical Technician (AEMT) level, or higher. Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) training.
Experience: Three (3) years of experience as an AEMT within the last five (5) years.
Board Certification (5.2.6.4.4): Successful completion of a State-approved Advanced Emergency Medical Technician (AEMT) training program and current certification by the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT) at the AEMT level.
Training: Familiar and able to access medical data systems (MHS Genesis, ASIMS, AIMWTS, PEPP, & HAIMS). Experience with Medical Records review to include military diving and quality control (DD2807, DD2808, and DD2766C, Dental, PHA, and Pressure Test Verification).
Skills: Shall be proficient in MS Office Suite and possess strong organizational, leadership, and communication skills to effectively manage a multidisciplinary team and interface with senior government stakeholders.
Work Schedule: Work a non‑standard schedule, extended hours, and/or rotating shifts which may include early mornings, evenings, nights, weekends, and/or holidays, but not to exceed 80 hours in a 2‑week period. The employee shall be flexible and may need to deviate from the typical work week schedule.
Working Conditions and Physical Requirements Work requires some physical exertion, such as walking over rough, uneven, or rocky surfaces as well as time spent outdoors in extreme temperatures and variable weather conditions. Work can require prolonged standing indoors or outdoors, bending, reaching, and lifting up to 50 lbs. HCW is required to maintain strength, coordination, and stamina to manage and operate exercise and medical equipment. Visits or extended duties in these locations or sites are necessary to observe performance/events, to survey, to conduct planning, etc. to ensure mission accomplishment. Some agility and strength may be required in executing medical coverage in these operational environments. The employee will report all activities to appropriate Government oversight, which may be required as inputs into the Human Performance Utilization Tracker (HPUT) or similar database. Work may require travel away from the normal duty station to support training requirements. Diligently and accurately captures and enters all required data into Government-approved systems (e.g., MHS Genesis, HPUT) in support of clinical care, operational reporting, and Government-led research initiatives.

The likely hourly rate for this position is between $20.24 - $25.30. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
