Job Description
The Emergency Medical Technician-PCP is responsible for responding to emergency and non-emergent calls for service, providing initial assessment, treatment, and transport of ill or injured persons.
Qualifications
- Primary Care Paramedic diploma (PCP)
- Health Care Provider Level C Certificate (HCP-C)
- Registered Paramedic (2011 National Occupational Competency Profile standards)
- Valid Class 4 driver's license
- International Trauma Life Support Certificate (ITLS)
- Basic Life Support Instructor Certificate (BLS)
Competencies and Knowledge
- Interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work and communicate in a cross-cultural setting
Additional Information
- Located approximately 94 km south of Saskatoon
- Preference for HSAS members as per the SAHO/HSAS Collective Agreement
- Must respond to ambulance calls within 10 minutes when on-call
- Registered or eligible with the Saskatchewan College of Paramedics at PCP/EMT level
- Clean Driver's Abstract
- Must be available a minimum of 24 hours per 3 weeks, including all shifts, short notice calls, holidays
- No guaranteed hours
