Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required upon hire.
• Certified Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) in Kentucky required upon hire.
• Valid driver’s license and at least 21 years old required upon hire.

Job Responsibilities

1. Navigates ambulance to the patient's location.
2. Provides stabilization at the scene and requests additional assistance as necessary.
3. Determines the nature and extent of illness or injury and gathers patient history from available sources.
4. Administers emergency medical care within scope of practice, including stabilization, monitoring, and resuscitation from scene to medical facility.
5. Contacts medical personnel, reports observations, and follows directives from supervising physician or nurse.
6. Maintains equipment, restocks supplies, and cleans ambulance as necessary.
7. Ensures the safe operation of all EMS vehicles in accordance with Kentucky Motor Vehicle codes.
8. Maintains personal knowledge and skills to deliver optimal patient care as an EMT.
9. Stocks and maintains EMS vehicle and contents to ensure readiness.
10. Works collaboratively with Fire and Law Enforcement agencies for coordinated patient care.
11. Documents all patient assessments, skills, and service reports promptly.
12. Arrives punctually and prepared for all shifts.
13. Acts professionally and manages conflict and stress effectively.

Qualifications

1. High school diploma or GED required upon hire.
2. No prior experience necessary.
3. Certified Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) in Kentucky required upon hire.
4. Valid driver’s license and at least 21 years old required upon hire.
5. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 90 days of employment.
