Job Summary

The duties of the EMT are broad, requiring both personal skills and a positive attitude. The EMT responds to emergency and non-emergency calls to provide care to patients, who may be critically ill or injured and in distress. The EMT also transports patients to medical facilities while providing care.

Minimum Education/License/Certification Requirements

• Must be certified in the State of Indiana as an EMT/B as defined in (836 IAC 16-1-39-6).
• Must be at least 21 years old and have 2 years of driving experience.
• Must have a clean driving record and be accepted by Witham's insurance carrier.
• Must demonstrate knowledge and skills to provide age-appropriate care, understanding growth and development over the lifespan, following departmental protocols and policies.

Experience

One year of pre-hospital emergency care is helpful but not necessary. Basic computer skills are required.
