Job summary

WorkCare is seeking a licensed EMT to join our Oklahoma clinic team. The role includes regulatory testing, triage, assessment and treatment for Seaboard Food Operations employees and telephonic support for Animal Operations, within state guidelines.

Responsibilities include EMR maintenance, claims coordination, and close collaboration with HR and the Work Comp Director. Two shifts available: 5:00am–5:00pm or 5:00pm–5:00am, 36 hours weekly.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Active EMT-Basic or EMT-Advanced license in Oklahoma.
  • BLS/CPR for Healthcare Providers.
  • Experience in healthcare, urgent care, or ER preferred.
  • EMR documentation experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide medical care to clinic patients per guidelines.
  • Update Nurse Manager and Work Comp Director on injuries/illnesses.
  • Assist with Workers' Comp claims documentation and coordination.
  • Input injuries/illnesses in CCMSI ICE data system.
  • Maintain EMR (Cority) and ensure accurate documentation.
  • Communicate with HR and Work Comp Director about work restrictions and absences.
  • Perform regulatory testing (spirometry, audiometry, immunizations, etc.).
  • Conduct drug and alcohol testing per client policy.
  • Provide preventive health education as needed.
  • Maintain clinic utilization reports and assist workflow.

Job Summary:

This position is responsible for performing regulatory testing, injury/illness triage, assessment, treatment, and wellness education for employees in a clinic setting for Seaboard Food Operations and via telephone for Animal Operations within the scope of practice as directed by WorkCare and State Guidelines.

We have 2 different shifts available: 3 days per week; 5:00am - 5:00pm (36 hours per week) and 3 days per week 5:00pm - 5:00am.

Responsibilities:

  • Provides medical care to clinic patients as requested/needed, and within the onsite staff employees certification/license scope of practice following treatment care guidelines set forth by the occupational health director.
  • Communicate and update Occupational Health Nurse Manager and client's Work Comp Director on all work-related injuries/illnesses.
  • Assist in managing, coordinating, documentation of Workers Comp claims & communicating with Client's Work Comp Director, assisting with Injury & Illness management.
  • Input and update all work-related injuries/illnesses in CCMSI's ICE data system.
  • Maintain Electronic Medical Record (EMR- Cority) and ensures complete & accurate documentation.
  • Communicate with Client's Human Resources department and Work Comp Director to keep them well-informed of employees with work restrictions, work-related absences, etc.
  • Performs regulatory testing including but not limited to: Respiratory medical evaluation, spirometry, audiometry, vision tests, urine test, immunizations, heat stress.
  • Conduct drug and alcohol testing in accordance with the client's substance abuse policy.
  • May perform First Aid, CPR, AED, and other training as necessary.
  • Provides preventive health education to employees as needed within scope of practice.
  • Maintains clinic utilization reports.
  • Participates in general flow of clinic operations (answers phones, checks email, medical records, scheduling, filing, copying charts, traffic control).
  • Maintain clinic's medical & office supplies in collaboration with ancillary staff.
  • Maintains communication with the Clinic Medical Director, Regional Account Manager, & client as necessary.
  • Ensures that employees have appropriate return-to-work clearances.
  • Other duties as assigned or those duties that may be required as management deems necessary.


Qualifications

Education and Experience

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
  • Must be certified with active EMT-Basic or EMT-Advanced license in the state of Oklahoma.
  • Must have BLS/CPR for Healthcare Providers.
  • Experience in a healthcare environment, urgent care, or emergency room preferred.
  • Experience in electronic health record documentation preferred.

Computer Skills

  • Must be competent in the Windows operating system environment, Adobe Professional, Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint) and learn other software as needed.


Physical Demands

  • Requires sitting for extended periods of time, working at a desk.
  • Some bending and stretching could be required.
  • Working under stress and use of computer/phone required.
  • Manual dexterity required for use of computer keyboard.
  • Occasionally may be required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel and/or crouch.
  • Ability to lift/move up to 50pounds and climb stairs.
  • Ability to kneel for extended periods of time while rendering emergency care and/or CPR.


Work Environment

  • Indoor, office environment conditions.
  • The noise level is usually moderate.
  • Air quality is good, and temperature is controlled.

The hourly pay range for this position is $24 - $26 per hour. Actual compensation offered to the final candidate within this range depends on factors such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and qualifications.
