WakeMed Health & Hospitals is seeking an Emergency Medical Technician to provide patient care and operate ambulances within the hospital's critical and non-critical transport program. The role includes documenting BLS patient conditions and care, cleaning and operating ambulances, and performing routine inspections and preventive maintenance of ambulances.
Licensure required includes EMT, Advanced EMT, or Paramedic.
The Mobile Care Services team handles more than 19,500 ground transports annually. Utilizing a fleet of 24 ground ambulances and operates type I, II, and III ambulances. The adult and pediatric specialty care teams provide medical transport 24 hours/day. The role of the Emergency Medical Technician is to provide patient care and /or operation of an ambulance as part of the Medical Center's critical and non-critical transport program. Provides documentation of BLS patient conditions and cares as needed for patients within the scope limits of practice for an Emergency Medical Technician-Basic. Cleans and exhibits proper operation of ambulance, associated equipment and work area. Performs routine daily inspections and preventive maintenance of ambulances. Other duties that may be assigned.
