Job summary

Macomb County is seeking an Emergency Management professional to advise first responders, agencies, and community groups across key phases of public safety planning. You will support LEPC and Local Planning Team committees and participate in emergency response activities as needed.

The role requires at least 1 year developing emergency plans and conducting trainings and exercises in an emergency management setting.

Qualifications

• 1 year of experience developing emergency plans, designing and facilitating public safety training and exercises, and participating in emergency response and recovery operations at local, county, state or federal levels.
• Bachelor's degree in Emergency Management, Homeland Security, Public Administration or related field preferred.
• PEM designation preferred within two years of hire or at time of hire.

Responsibilities

• Advises and assists first responders, government agencies, private groups and educational institutions with phases of emergency management.
• Supports established emergency management committees, including LEPC and Local Planning Team.
• Performs related duties as assigned.
