Job summary

Collier County BCC seeks an experienced Emergency Management Program Director to coordinate preparedness, response, recovery, and mitigation for the county, working with the Florida Division of Emergency Management. You will oversee strategic planning for the Emergency Management Division and lead efforts across departments to protect lives and property.

The role includes directing daily operations, managing staff and budgets, and representing the county to state and federal partners.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in emergency management or related field.
• Six (6) years of related, verifiable experience.
• Valid driver license and fingerprinting requirements.

Responsibilities

• Oversees preparedness, response, recovery, and mitigation activities for the County and coordinates with the Florida Division of Emergency Management.
• Establishes strategic plans, goals, and objectives for the Emergency Management Division and directs operations to maximize performance.
• Manages staff performance, delegates assignments, and ensures compliance with regulations and policies.
• Represents the County to state/federal officials, agencies, and the public; provides briefings and recommendations to the Board of Commissioners.
