This position requires in-person collaboration with FEMA in Los Angeles and emergency management planning experience. The role involves developing emergency operations plans and facilitating stakeholder engagement.

The ideal candidate should have strong competencies in data analysis and technical writing, with at least 5 years of relevant experience. This deployment-based position is not traditional full-time, and team members should be located near Los Angeles. Salary ranges from $35 to $55 hourly based on experience.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in emergency management planning, preferably with FEMA or other federal deployments.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, including technical writing and stakeholder facilitation.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in dynamic, high-pressure environments.

Responsibilities

• Develop, validate, and implement emergency operations plans, hazard mitigation plans, and continuity of operations plans.
• Apply FEMA's FOPM Six-Step Planning Process to guide planning deliverables and stakeholder engagement.
• Provide surge staffing support during disaster activations and deployments.
