Job summary

Winnebago Tribe of Nebraska is seeking an Emergency Management Coordinator to design and direct the tribe’s emergency management program for Winnebago, NE and surrounding jurisdictions. The role reports to the Physical Resource Director and Tribal Council during emergencies and requires guiding operations.

Responsibilities include setting annual goals, developing procedures for disaster response, establishing budgets, coordinating with FEMA, NEMA, and local agencies, and training staff in

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree plus 5+ years emergency management experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience
• 2 years’ experience with FEMA & NEMA Regulations and Guidelines
• 3+ years supervising a department and direct reports
• Excellent customer service and communication skills
• Must have a valid US Driver’s license
• Ability to read, write and speak English fluently

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates the Winnebago Tribe’s core mission, vision, and values.
• Set departmental goals and objectives; manage departmental budget
• Coordinate and lead disaster response or crisis management activities
• Coordinate with FEMA, NEMA and Local County representatives during emergencies
• Develop and maintain liaison with municipalities and county entities
• Promote and implement the Incident Management System
• Maintain ongoing professional education and compliance with emergency management issues
• Ensure Local Emergency Operating Plan is implemented and maintained
• Attend Tribal Council meetings and required staff meetings
• Perform other related duties as assigned
