Job summary

MoDOT is hiring for an on-call emergency maintenance equipment operator at the Eldon Maintenance Facility. The role involves snow removal duties and performing routine vehicle and equipment maintenance under direct supervision.

Seasonal pay scales apply, with an additional $3 per hour emergency operations adjustment during winter events. Minimum qualifications include a CDL Class A or B with appropriate restrictions, age 18+, and pass a background check and drug screen.

Job description

This is an on-call position - hours will vary depending on weather events. This position is eligible for a temporary emergency operations adjustment of $3 per hour when handling winter/emergency operations activities.

EMERGENCY WAGE RATES:

1st Season: $20.00 hourly

2nd and 3rd Season: $21.11 hourly

4th Season or more: $22.37 hourly

What you'll do:

• Operates vehicles to plow snow and spread ice control materials or to warn oncoming traffic. Cleans and performs routine maintenance on vehicles, equipment, buildings and grounds. Performs other responsibilities as required or assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

• At least 18 years of age.
• Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class A or B with no air brake restrictions and interstate status (either Excepted Interstate [EI] or Non-Excepted Interstate [NI]).
• Successful completion of a criminal background check and drug screen.

Special Working Conditions:

• Job may require overtime and nighttime work.
• Job requires outdoor work that involves exposure to physical hazards, health and safety risks, and/or adverse or otherwise undesirable characteristics in the environment, including risk of physical injury from carrying out duties in heavy traffic areas, on or near heavy equipment or machinery, and with hazardous chemicals or materials.
