Responsibilities

  • Responds to inquiry voicemails and emails.
  • Provides contact information for JFS for further services.
  • Completes initial assessment forms and appropriate secondary assessment forms.
  • Determines and verifies client's income and eligibility for services.
  • Creates client records in the client database, including billing information and referrals.
  • Collaborates with program coordinators to ensure clients are referred and integrated into JFS services.
  • Assists with internal referrals for existing JFS clients.
  • Maintains an electronic directory of all JFS programs and keeps the directory updated.
  • Maintains an electronic directory of community resource directories and referral processes.
  • Attends agency and department meetings.
  • Maintains needed data on internal and external referrals.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Salary: $28 per hour
This is a full-time, temporary position. The employment period is approximately September 18 through December 11, 2026. This position is not eligible for benefits.

This position provides central intake services at the JFS Tamarac location for Community Resources for Stability, Boulder JFS Counseling, Aging Care and Connections, and Employment.This position ensures callers and walk-ins are efficiently and effectively directed to community resources and connected to agency programs to meet their needs and the needs of others in their lives.This position collaborates with program staff, plays an integral role in assessing which JFS services will best serve callers and walk-ins, and makes appropriate JFS program referrals to support successful service integration.

Essential Functions:
  • Responds to all inquiry voicemails and emails that have been generated through JFS main reception. Responds to walk-ins as they occur.
  • For community information and referrals, provides each inquiry with contact information for JFS for further services.
  • Completes initial assessment form and appropriate secondary assessment forms depending on specific service(s) requested.
  • Determines and verifies client's income and eligibility for services.
  • Creates client records in the client database, including billing information as well as referrals.
  • Collaborates with appropriate program coordinators, operations managers, or directors to ensure that clients are both appropriately referred and integrated into JFS services.
  • For existing JFS clients, assists with internal referrals to other JFS programs.
  • Maintains an electronic directory of all JFS programs, including eligibility requirements and fees for service. Works with appropriate program coordinators, operations managers, or directors to develop processes to keep this directory updated.
  • Maintains an electronic directory of links to relevant community resource directories and their referral process. Updates regularly.
  • Attends appropriate agency and department meetings.
  • Maintains needed data on both internal and external referrals.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Education/Experience:
  • One to three years of relevant education or experience is preferred.
  • Two to three years' experience providing direct services to diverse populations, including intake, assessment, information and referral, and crisis intervention, is preferred.
Other:
  • Strong computer skills including knowledge of databases, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, email, Internet, and other information directories.
  • Strong organizational, communication, teamwork, and collaboration skills.
  • Bilingual English-Spanish preferred
  • Excellent client and customer service. This job requires being pleasant with others on the job and maintaining a cooperative attitude while being detail-oriented and thorough in completing work tasks.

Work Environment:
In-Office Position:

Work is primarily performed in our office at 3201 South Tamarac Dr., Denver 80231. Work hours are generally during regular business hours, with occasional flexibility required to support agency needs.

Essential physical requirements:

Frequent sitting and typing. Some cleaning duties at JCC. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to communicate and use standard office equipment.

Physical effort/lifting:

The employee may occasionally be required to lift up to 10 pounds.
