Sentara CarePlex Hospital in Hampton, VA is seeking a Registered Nurse, Forensic Nurse Examiner for the Emergency Department. The FNE will provide expert forensic care, maintain forensic medical records, and support the judicial process.

Requirements include Virginia or Compact multi-state license, BLS within 90 days, and BSN or MSN. A minimum of 1 year of clinical experience and completion of SANE/FNE training are required. Sentara offers competitive pay and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Must be a licensed Registered Nurse in Virginia or compact state
• Completion of a Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner (SANE) or Forensic Nurse Examiner (FNE) training program
• Minimum of 1 year clinical experience in a related setting

• Forensic Nurse Examiners ensure high quality and cost effective care to forensic patients.
• Maintain knowledge of judicial processes and forensic billing procedures.
• Create and maintain forensic medical records and participate in court subpoenas as required
