City of Grants Pass is seeking a Telecommunicator/9-1-1 Dispatcher to serve the community. The role is stressful, fast-paced, and requires clear speech, typing at least 40 wpm, and the ability to multi-task while prioritizing calls and directing resources.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; one year of customer service experience preferred
• Public safety experience preferred; or equivalent education/experience
• Candidate must be capable of typing at least 40 wpm and working under pressure

Responsibilities

• Answer emergency 9-1-1 and non-emergency calls and direct appropriate resources
• Prioritize calls and track unit status while dispatching police, fire and/or EMS
• Maintain clear communication and multi-task during high-volume periods
• Represent the City with professionalism during all interactions
