Job summary

Summitbsa in Glen Jean, WV, seeks a dedicated emergency dispatcher to handle security, fire, and medical incident calls, dispatch responses, and document in real time. The role supports daily operations with critical situational awareness and reliable cross-team communication.

You will monitor gate operations, guide guests, and relay essential updates during emergencies, using radio systems and weather software to keep staff informed. Housing and uniform provided.

Qualifications

• Minimum age 18+.
• 2+ years related experience or SBR work experience.
• Pass competency training during orientation.
• Proficient with email, texting, internet, Word and Excel.
• Able to work up to 12 hour shifts.
• Willing to become a registered Scouting America member (background screening).
• Comfortable using Microsoft Teams for daily work-related communication.

Responsibilities

• Receive, monitor, and evaluate gate operations for guests and document correctly.
• Direct guests to locations using maps and polite communication.
• Dispatch updates and alerts to staff and guests in emergencies.
• Use two-way radios to communicate with local authorities and staff.
• Monitor weather with software and provide timely updates.
• Remain calm in emergencies and weather-related situations.
• Provide and assist in level 1 operator training.
• Model the Scout Oath and Law in daily interactions.
• Maintain a clean, organized, safe work area.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by SBR leadership.
• Adhere to policies in the SBR staff handbook.
