Job summary

The Medical University of South Carolina is seeking an entry- to journey-level Telecommunications/Dispatch Attendant to operate PBX or Centrex systems and coordinate radio and teletype traffic. This position trains attendants, may supervise shifts, and prepares schedules for staff in the Communications Call Center.

Work involves 40 hours per week, hourly pay, and requires a High School Degree or equivalent; MUSC is an Equal Opportunity Employer.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Degree or Equivalent. Work Experience: 0-6 months.

Responsibilities

• Operate telecommunications or radio equipment for operator or dispatch duties.
• Serve as PBX/Centrex attendant and assist in training attendants.
• Possibly act as shift supervisor and prepare work schedules for attendants.
• Dispatch law enforcement, public safety or other personnel/equipment as needed.
