Job summary

Mount Carmel Health System is seeking a Unit Coordinator to provide essential administrative support for patient care teams during a 12-hour night shift. You will transcribe orders, assemble medical records, and collaborate with charge nurses to manage bed and unit needs while handling calls and patient charges efficiently.

Requirements include a high school diploma, healthcare terminology knowledge, and EMR familiarity.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Healthcare experience or knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
• Proficient with Microsoft-based PCs, phones, fax, printers; EMR experience preferred.
• Must complete MC Unit Coordinator Training upon hire/transfer.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to organize a varied workload.

Responsibilities

• Communicate and transcribe orders accurately for clinical colleagues.
• Assemble and maintain all medical records with current information.
• Coordinate bed and unit needs with the unit charge nurse, manager, or patient placement.
• Manage phones and patient call lights and relay messages.
• Update patient accommodation and enter/manage patient charge information.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
